Kazakh President meets with Turkish Prime Minister

 ANKARA. October 11. KAZINFORM Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has met with Prime Minister of Turkey Recep Erdogan.

During the meeting, the parties noted the relevant interests of Astana and Ankara in resolving regional and international problems, issues of energy security and economic cooperation. This is reflecting the strategic nature of cooperation between the two countries based on common historical roots and cultural values.

Following the meeting, Nursultan Nazarbayev and Recep Erdogan will attend the first meeting of the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council.

The sides are planned to sign a joint statement, the plan of implementation of the joint economic program "New Synergy" for 2012-2015 under the auspices of presidents Nursultan Nazarbayev and Abdullah Gul, a memorandum between the Kazakh Agency of Public Administration and the Directorate of State Service of Turkey.

Turkey is one of the main trade partners of Kazakhstan. According to the Kazakh Statistics Agency, the trade turnover between the two countries for the first seven months of this year reached USD 2 billion 460 thousand.
