Kazakh President launches construction of Aktau bitumen plant

AKTAU. June 9. KAZINFORM /Yernur Akanbay/ During his working visit to Mangystau region Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has launched the construction of a bitumen pant in Aktau city in live teleconference on Wednesday.
"This is a very significant and capital-intensive facility for Kazakhstan. We purchase bitumen required for road construction from abroad", N. Nazarbayev said.
He noted that a large amount of bitumen was needed for the construction of the section of 'Western Europe - Western China" transport corridor. "Thus we need bitumen of domestic production", the President emphasized. "Our economy can not develop without railroads and highways", N. Nazarbayev added.
