Kazakh President laid a capsule in foundation of new shop at Aktobe Ferroalloy Plant
N. Nazarbayev noted that in whole the region would launch 54 projects. The new production unit at the Aktobe plant is equipped with the advanced technologies. "It is a brand new production, which will increase capacities twofold, work output will grow four times. Chrome extraction will make up 90%. 1,500 people will get new jobs at the plant", the President emphasized.
The Aktobe Ferroalloy Plant is an affiliate of Kazchrome OJSC. It was founded in 1943 as the first plant in the iron industry of Kazakhstan. It consists of three main melting shops and shops on slug processing, charge preparation, ore processing and other facilities.
To increase its production capacities the enterprise is realizing investment projects within the framework of 30 Corporate Leaders state program. In July 2009 Kazchrome launched a chrome pellet plant with the capacity of 700 thousand tons per year and a chromite pellet plant with the capacity of 1 million tons per year.
