Kazakh President expresses concern over Kashagan project

The meeting was carried out within the framework of the Foreign Investors Council in the village of Burabay. Eni has been present in Kazakhstan since 1992, the year negotiations began for the Karachaganak field and at the moment the most important point of our cooperation is the North-Caspian project ", said the President.

During the conversation President expressed concern about the progress of the project associated with the development of the Kashagan field. It bears to remind that following the start of production from the Kashagan field on 11 September 2013, the operations had to be stopped on 24 September, due to gas leak in the onshore section of the gas pipeline running from D Island to the onshore processing facility "Bolashak". According to recent statements made by the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kashagan production could resume before the end of 2015.
