Kazakh President calls on CIS states for economic integration

ASTANA. March 10. KAZINFORM. /Aigul Tulekbayeva/ ?There is no alternative to Eurasian integration in the long-term perspective?, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has said making a speech at the Congress of the Eurasian Association of Universities in Astana today.
?Earlier we often were blind to the factors slowing down the integration processes. Today we have no right to do it. Only together we are able to ensure sustainable economic development of our states?, the Head of the State said.
According to the President, consequences of the current world economic crisis break many illusions of the past. ?We should not expect assistance from others. Those who had taught us how to live, build state policy, are forced today to deal with their own problems?, N. Nazarbayev emphasized.
As is known, the Kazakh leader voiced the idea of creation of the Eurasian Union 15 years ago at the Lomonosov Moscow State University.
