Kazakh President biographical book presented in Berlin

The book is the first attempt of the official historical and biographical study of the life and work of Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan, who traced his way from the regular village youth to the National leader. The book is focused on the political biography of the President, which is performed in the historical perspective of dramatic and controversial events and processes that accompany the development of Kazakhstan at the turn of XX-XXI centuries. Prepared on the basis of an extensive array of archival materials the book is an important documentary source for the newest history of Kazakhstan. The book includes reproduced copies of personal documents which allow the reader to more fully enjoy the atmosphere of the events described. Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor Mahmoud Kassymbekov is the author of the book. He serves as the Head of the President's Office. The German version of the book was published with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Germany. The presentation ceremony was held in the building of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences. It was attended by prominent public figures of Germany including former Vice Chancellor Hans-Dietrich Genscher; member of the Bundestag, the chairman of the parliamentary group "Germany - Central Asia", chairman of the Kazakh-German society Manfred Grund; president of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences Günter Stock; the famous German political scientist Alexander Rahr, as well as scientists, experts, members of the Council of Elders of the German settlers from Kazakhstan, representatives of the Kazakh Diaspora in Germany. The Kazakh side was represented by the author of the book Mahmoud Kassymbekov, Kazakh Ambassador to Germany Bolat Nusupov, Majilis deputy Aldan Smaiyl, Deputy Chief of Staff to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhytzhan Temirbolat, and a member of the Writers' Union of Kazakhstan Nesipbek Aituly.
