Kazakh President arrives in Tianjin

BEIJING-TIANJIN. February 23. KAZINFORM /Ruslan Suleimenov/ Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev has arrived in Tianjin city within his official visit to China today.
The Chinese capital city and Tianjin city are connected by a high-speed rail (HSR) of 120 km in length. The HSR was put into operation in August 2008. This is the first high-speed rail in China with designed top operating speed of 350 km/h. A trip between Beijing and Tianjin takes 30 minutes.
Yesterday at the meeting with representatives of the Chinese business community the Kazakh President said that the result of his visit and one of the main achievements would be the beginning of construction of 1000 km long high-speed rail from Astana to Almaty.
According to the visit's program, the Head of State is expected to survey the Tianjin development plan. Later the President will fly to Astana from the Tianjin airport.
