Kazakh PM urges Agriculture Ministry to explore crop acreage planning issue

ASTANA. January 18. KAZINFORM /Serik Sabekov/ Kazakhstan Prime Minister Karim Massimov has urged the Ministry of Agriculture to explore the issue of crop acreage planning.
He said it at the enlarged session of the Ministry's Board on Monday, January 18.
"The Ministry of Agriculture and KazAgro Holding are necessary to take into account the 2009 experience and look for our pressure points", he noted.
K.Massimov also noted that a small harvest - it is bad, though a heavy yield brings also many problems.
"We should hold balancing and plan our crop acreage", he emphasized. The Premier reminded that within the planning it is crucial to take into account internal needs of the market and export opportunities.
