"I generally support the proposed amendments and instruct the Ministry of Regional Development to submit the package of changes to the Government," said the Kazakh Premier.

According to Akhmetov, the program has yielded positive results thus far. "Nonetheless, it is necessary to improve the quality of its implementation, use its potential to the fullest," added the head of the Cabinet.

Kairbek Uskenbayev, the First Deputy Minister of Regional Development, reminded that over the last two years the Business Road Map 2020 program has been repeatedly amended and the fourth package of changes to the program is on the way.

"In line with the presidential instructions, the fourth package suggests shifting focus to the support of the projects of small and medium-sized businesses and small projects. The new changes would create the conditions to provide more support measures to entrepreneurs and people with business potential," noted K. Uskenbayev.

In his words, the package will be submitted for the Government's consideration in October 2013.
