ASTANA. July 15. KAZINFORM /Murat Zhakeyev/ "The authorities should not prohibit wearing hijab. We should respect religious belief of any person," PM Karim Massimov said today during an online conference in Astana.
"We will not be taking any legislative and regulatory measures to ban wearing hijab. The hijab issue is being politicized not only in Kazakhstan, but also in other countries. On the other hand, as for the extreme forms that have nothing to do with the real religion, the Government of Kazakhstan should pursue the appropriate policy and address those challenges severely," the Premier stated.
