Kazakh PM chairs session on education system reform

KOSTANAY. KAZINFORM - Today, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov has chaired a session dedicated to transition to a 12-year education system in the city of Kostanay. Kazakhstan's Education Minister Aslan Sarinzhipov was in attendance.

Minister Sarinzhipov announced that as a result of years-long experiments a new standard of education has been developed. It is chiefly based on the Nazarbayev Intellectual schools' experience. "The new standard of education is set to be introduced at 30 schools across Kazakhstan next year. Out of 30, two schools are located in Kostanay," he added. "The new standard will be used countrywide starting from 2016." In Kostanay, Minister Sarinzhipov also presided at a republican session dedicated to summer holidays. It was noted that 70% children in Kazakhstan will spend their summer at recreation camps. To this end, 11,000 summer camps have opened their doors in the country this summer. Participants of the republican session paid a fam visit to one of the local summer camps and discussed organization of summer holidays for children.
