Kazakh opera Birzhan and Sara performed in Turkish Samsun

ISTANBUL. December 20. KAZINFORM - Famous Kazakh opera "Birzhan and Sara" was staged in the Turkish city of Samsun's Opera and Ballet Theatre timed to the Independence Day of Kazakhstan with the support of the Kazakh Embassy in Turkey and TURKSOY General Secretariat.

Before the event, Kazakh Amabassador to Turkey Zh.Tuymebaev shared on achievements of Kazakhstan 's independence. He said that the Kazakh art and cultural heritage had become part of the global spiritual wealth and thanked the leadership and staff of Samsun State Opera and Ballet Theatre for staging the opera "Birzhan and Sara" in Turkish. His special thanks were addressed to TURKSOY Secretary General D.Kaseynov for his assistance in staging the Kazakh opera in Turkey.

The event was attended by the governor of the province of Samsun, Hussein Aksoy, rector of the University of Samsun, leadership of the Black Sea Industrialists and Businessmen's Association KASIAD, heads of local municipalities, representatives of academic, political and business circles, culture workers and artists, Kazakh expats, the region's residents, students.

The opera was a sell-out, which is evidence to sure success of the first Kazakh opera production abroad. It was also noted by the governor of the province of Samsun in his speech, in which he underscored Kazakhstan's rich history and culture.

"Kazakhstan has made progress in economy and foreign policy as well as in culture and art. It is not a stretch to say that Kazakhstan has made great contribution to the world art", - concluded the governor.

Samsun is the capital of the Black Sea region of Turkey with a rich history and culture.
