Kazakh Ombudsman met with Norwegian Center for Peace and Human Rights delegation

ASTANA. July 1. KAZINFORM - Kazakhstan Ombudsman Askar Shakirov has met with Norwegian Center for Peace and Human Rights delegation that arrived in Kazakhstan to take part in the OSCE Conference on Tolerance and Non-Discrimination, the press-service of the Ombudsman informs.
This organization is a non-profit organization which is aimed at promotion of peace, human rights and interreligious tolerance and non-discrimination.
The sides discussed the issues regarding the realization of the report on human rights in Kazakhstan. It was prepared by the Center jointly with Norwegian Helsinki Committee and represented at the OSCE Conference on Tolerance and Non-Discrimination.
The Human Rights Commissioner informed the guests about the prior measures taken by the state to ensure human rights and particularly in the sphere of religious freedom.
Opinions were expressed regarding the importance of further cooperation between the ombudsman institution and Norwegian Center for Peace and Human Rights.
