Kazakh MPs discuss transnational threats at OSCE conference
The parliamentary conference on "Transnational threats and protection of human rights: the role of OSCE" was opened in Budva in conjunction with Montenegro authorities. Within the framework of the conference, parliamentarians of the OSCE member states discussed relevant issues in the sphere of security and interaction between the country partners and within the international organizations.
Mr. Adyrbekov's speech at the conference was dedicated to the problems of regional cooperation and economic rehabilitation of Afghanistan. The Kazakh senator stressed the regulation of the situation and peaceful development of Afghanistan is of paramount importance for the Central Asian region and the organization on the whole. He informed his colleagues of the work done by Kazakhstan in this respect and called on them to use Almaty's potential, where the regional representative office of the United Nations Organization is to be opened.
The Kazakh delegation also held working meetings with MPs of Montenegro, France, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Sweden, Switzerland and Germany in order to touch upon the possible cooperation between the law-making bodies, especially within the OSCE PA.
