Kazakh Ministry of Environment Protection holds session

ASTANA. January 30. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Enlarged session of the Board on the results of the work in 2008 and plans for 2009 with the participation of Prime Minister Karim Massimov is held in the Kazakh Ministry of Environment Protection, Kazinform reports. Parliament Deputies, reps of the Presidential Administration, executive bodies, international and non-governmental organizations, heads of large enterprises, scientists and expert-ecologists take part in the session.
Minister Nurlan Iskakov reported on realization of commissions of the Head of the State, aimed at improvement of environment, solution of topical ecological problems. Last year the Ministry developed amendments to the Ecological Code of Kazakhstan on the issues of export of environmentally unsound technologies and equipments. A project on construction of 14 environmentally safe midget power plants was developed together with German specialists. Four such stations have been already commissioned.
The Minister said that the project on arid lands management in Karaganda region is coming to the end. Holding of public ecological listening became good tradition.
