Kazakh Minister of Foreign Affairs outlined tasks of 2015

"The Minister noted that this year would be a highly significant year for our country because of not one but several anniversaries to celebrate. These are the 550th anniversary of the Kazakh Khanate, the 20th anniversary of the Constitution of Kazakhstan and the Assembly of People of Kazakhstan. Besides, another important date is the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Moreover, the UN marks its 70th anniversary this year, and the 40th anniversary of signing of the Final Act of the Helsinki Conference on Security and Cooperation in Europe, which led to establishment of the OSCE, falls on 2015," the statement reads. Y. Idrissov outlined several directions in work within the presidency of Kazakhstan in the CIS and the Council of Turkic speaking states in 2015. The importance of work on assistance in organization of forums which became already well-known platforms for a dialogue at the global level was also empathized. These are the 5th Congress of Leaders of World and Traditions Religions, Eurasian media forum, Astana Economic Forum and the World Anti-Crisis Conference. The minister also stressed the importance of establishment and strengthening relations between the two largest organizations of the continent - the European Union and Eurasian Economic Union which became even more relevant since January 1, 2015 when the agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union came into force. Besides, the schedule of international events with the participation of the Head of State and top officials in bilateral format and within the work of Kazakhstan in regional and international organizations and forums was considered.
