ASTANA. April 3. KAZINFORM At Wednesday's reception on the occasion of 20th jubilee of Tengizchevroil project, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev wished Chevron managers to increase Kazakhstani content and be more active in terms of country's industrialization program.
"I am thankful that you granted my wish and built a plastic pipes plant, a naval academy in Atyrau region, and today I would like to announce the start of construction of the Palace of Youth in Atyrau.
The issue of Kazakhstani content is of paramount importance and I am aware that currently 32% of your procurements are made within Kazakhstan, but we want this figure to grow.
We set the goal to join the club of the world's 30 most developed countries by 2050 and that is why the industrial program of the country is underway. I am sure Chevron will play an active role in it. Chevron together with the Kazakh Government could build new oil refineries, create new jobs and industrial enterprises," the Kazakh Leader noted.
