Kazakh language declared state language 20 years ago

ANA. September 22. KAZINFORM /Zarina Nokrabekova/ The Languages Law of the KazSSR was adopted on September 22 1989, and the Kazakh language was declared the state language of Kazakhstan.
"This day is one of the important days in the history of our people. There are about 6, 900 languages in the world, and only one hundred of them have the status of the state language. On that memorable day the Kazakh language joined the world cent", Chairman of the Languages Development Committee of the Ministry of Culture and Information Yerbol Shaimerden emphasized addressing the national scientific conference today.
