Kazakh judokas celebrate first wins at Paris Grand Slam 2024
Prestigious Paris Judo Grand Slam 2024 kicked off in the French capital today, Kazinform News Agency reports.

Judokas in the weight categories of 60 to 66 kg represent Kazakhstan at the three-day tournament which has brought together over 620 competitors from 107 countries.
One of the most decorated judokas in Kazakhstan Yeldos Smetov eliminated Egyptian Adel Hamada in the -60kg Pool D event and is set to take on two-time world champion South Korean Lee Harim in the next fight.
Unfortunately, Nurkanat Serikbayev of Kazakhstan was upset by Uzbek Doston Ruziyev in the 60kg Pool B event.
Kazakhstan’s Gusman Kyrgyzbayev routed Christ Mupata in the -66kg Pool B event and is expected to face Japanese Joshiro Maruyama next.
Kazakh judoka Yesset Kuanov defeated Venezuelan Willis Garcia in the -66kg Pool C fight and will go against Moldovan Rau Izvoreanu in the next fight.
