The parties discussed state and prospects of the Kazakh-Japanese relations as well as the oncoming visit of the Kazakh Secretary of State to Japan  scheduled for the end of August and his participation in the UN conference on disarmament issues.

"Our relations are characterized by high dynamics of top-level visits. Last year visit of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev to Japan gave a new impulse to the bilateral relations following which a number of important agreements were concluded.  In particular, the point at issue is joint participation in development of our nuclear resources and increasing the volume of investments and technologies from Japan to Kazakhstan", K. Saudabayev said.

"To my mind, N. Nazarbayev's visit to our country raised or relations to a strategic partnership level especially in the economic sphere", S. Natsui noted.
