Kazakh-Indian Business Council holds session in Almaty
It is aimed at opening of new ways of cooperation, experience exchange by representatives of large, medium and small businesses, manufacturers, importers and distributors.
About 15 Indian companies working in the field of engineering, construction, electric power transmission, logistics, IT technologies, agricultural processing, organic and inorganic chemistry, petrochemistry, pharmacy, fertilizer materials, medicine and others take part in the session. About 40 Kazakh companies interested in tuning up trade-economic ties with the Indian partners participate in it.
Following the results of the session a protocol of the meeting, which will define directions for further development of cooperation between Kazakhstan and India, will be signed.
The trade turnover between India and Kazakhstan in 2008 increased by 88 percent and makes up USD 368 mln. The session participants noted that there are great opportunities for further development of trade between both countries.
"The Kazakh-Indian Business Council was created in 1994. Three sessions, two out of which were held in Almaty, made great contribution to development and strengthening trade-economic cooperation of the two countries. At present we are at the stage of strategic partnership, and he hope that our relations will strengthen in the future", Vice President of the Kazakh Commerce and Industry Chamber Tatyana Zhdanova said.
