Kazakh gymnasts reach Challenge Cup finals in Bulgaria

The first stage of the FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Challenge Cup has kicked off in Varna, Bulgaria, Qazinform News Agency cites the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Following the opening day of qualification, three members of Kazakhstan’s team advanced to the finals in individual disciplines.

Kazakhstan’s Zeinolla Idrissov secured a place in the pommel horse final with the second-best performance in qualification, while Roman Khegay also advanced after taking seventh place.

Another Kazakh gymnast, Nurtan Idrissov, advanced to the final in the rings event. He placed sixth in qualification and will compete for a medal.

The second qualification day of the tournament is scheduled to take place in Varna on May 8.

Earlier, Qazinform reported Kazakhstan’s 60-year-old Paralympic champion Gabidullina wins bronze at World Para Swimming Series in Paris.
