Kazakh Government to allocate funds for projects completion at Chernobyl nuclear power plant

KIEV. April 19. KAZINFORM /Muratbek Makulbekov/ Kazakh Government considered the appeal of the presidents of France and Ukraine, and decided to allocate funds for the completion of international projects at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said addressing the Kiev nuclear safety summit on Tuesday.
"First of all I would like to thank the organizers and personally President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych for the invitation to the forum.
On April 26 it will 25 years since the largest in the world Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster. Without exaggeration we can say that Chernobyl was the starting point that made the whole world to think seriously on the safe use of nuclear energy," N. Nazarbayev noted.
"Chernobyl tragic events are still a pain in the hearts of the Kazakhstanis, who are familiar with the negative consequences of nuclear radiation," the President added.
