Kazakh Government considered progress in implementation of meat export development program
At the beginning of the meeting S. Akhmetov noted that on the instructions of the President, the program on development of cattle meat export potential was implemented in the country. The import of special breeds of cattle is held within the framework of the program. Farms receive credits for purchasing breading stock and building feeding yards.
Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Assylzhan Mamytbekov emphasized in his report that business sector took an active part in implementation of this program and the state created all the necessary conditions for successful implementation.
"The program provides for import of breeding stock till 2016 in the amount of 72 thousand of heads of cattle. The work in this direction is held ahead of plan. About 30 thousand heads of cattle have been imported over two years. About 60 new farms have been established," the Minister said.
A.Mamytbekov also noted high activity of all regions in implementation of "Sybaga" Program. The best work was demonstrated by Almaty, East Kazakhstan and Karaganda region, Kazinform refers to the Kazakh PM's website.
Besides, construction of export-oriented feeding yards is also actively held. Feeding yards for over 35 thousand heads of cattle have been built in two years.
"The state renders all-round assistance for development of cattle raising in the country. The program on development of agro-industrial complex - 2020, which we will adopt, provides for absolutely unprecedented measures of support," S. Akhmetov said.
"We are involved in global integration, we are a part of the Single Economic Space and Customs Union and soon we will be a part of the WTO. We have to be competitive not only in terms of prices but in terms of quality as well," the Prime Minister emphasized.
