Kazakh Government approves 2025-2029 Shchuchinsk-Burabay resort area development plan
Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov decreed to approve the 2025-2029 Shchuchinsk-Burabay resort area complex development plan, Kazinform News Agency learnt from the Government’s press service.

It contains 118 provisions worth 137.2 billion tenge and aims to develop the tourism infrastructure, transport logistics, digital solutions, security system and attract investments.
The plan encompasses creating year-round tourist sites, boosting eco and sports tourism, and building new recreational areas.
In particular, it is planned to build children’s centers, sports and recreational complexes and an all-season indoor water park nearby the Lake Katarkol.
Camping and glamping sites and new tourist routes will appear near the Lake Zhukey.
It is expected to boost winter sport, open ski resorts with ski property rental, food areas and souvenir shops.
Transport infrastructure, including parking structures, visitor centers and food services areas, will be built for the convenience of tourists.
The number of tourists is projected to rise from 35,000 to 94,000 thanks to the plan development. Employment in the sphere of tourism is predicted to grow from 22,000 to 32,500. It is expected to attract up to 22.7 billion tenge in private investments. The share of tourism in the economy of the region is set to increase from 1.4% to 3.5%.
Development of the resort area will strengthen Kazakhstan's positions in the region and raise the attractiveness of domestic tourism.
As earlier reported, the Head of State signed a law on special status of Turkistan.
