Kazakh Government approved draft program of space industry development till 2014

ASTANA. October 18. KAZINFORM /Damir Baimanov/ The Cabinet has approved a draft sectorial program of Kazakhstan's space industry development for 2010-2014.
As Deputy Chairman of the National Space Agency M. Moldabekov noted, it is planned to raise the level of satisfaction of the country's needs for fixed satellite communications channels to 80%, for high-precision satellite navigation services - to 30%.
According to him, special attention is paid to the development of scientific-technical base of the space industry.
The program provides for creation of new directions of applied scientific research, new models of space equipment and technologies, training and advanced training of scientific and professional personnel of the space industry.
Besides, Kazakhstan will continue strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia and establishing international cooperation with space powers.
