Kazakh-German coop prospects discussed in Almaty

ATY. September 7. KAZINFORM /Aigul Turysbekova/ A roundtable "The Kazakh-German cooperation: analysis and prospects" has been held in Almaty on Monday. An expert dialogue on the strategy and certain steps on strengthening the Kazakh-German cooperation and the role of the Kazakhstani Germans in it became the roundtable's topic.
The meeting is held within the framework of the events dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the German public movement "Revival" and 15th anniversary of the German House in Almaty. Today the German Diaspora in Kazakhstan amounts to over 220.000 people and is the seventh largest ethnic group in the country. Kazakhstan is the leading economic partner of Germany in Central Asia.
The expert community of the two countries was presented at the meeting. Kazakh Majilis deputy Olga Kikolenko, member of the People's Assembly of Kazakhstan Natalya Kalashnikova, representative of the German Federal Ministry of the Interior Frank Willenberg are among the speakers.
The participants discussed state programs "Path to Europe" and "Cultural heritage".
