Kazakh Foreign Ministry confirms death of Kazakhstani citizen in terrorist attack in Kabul

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan confirms death of a citizen of Kazakhstan as a result of a terrorist attack in Kabul.

"This is to confirm that citizen of Kazakhstan Aigerim Abdullayeva, born in 1987, was killed when terrorists attacked Park Palace Hotel in Kabul on May 13. We express our sincere condolences to her family and friends," the statement of the Ministry reads.

For the first time A. Abdullayeva visited Afghanistan this February together with her husband, citizen of Italy, who worked as a foreign adviser to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan. After the vacation, she spent in Astana, she returned to Kabul on April 20, the Ministry informs.

On May 13, a concert was organized for the guests of Park Palace Hotel in Kabul. During the concert, terrorists attacked the event in the hotel. The police could not enter the hotel right away because the terrorists controlled all the entrances and had hostages. The fight lasted 7 hours. All of the terrorists were killed.

Citizens of the USA, Great Britain, Italy and India and citizens of Afghanistan were also killed during the attack.
