Kazakh Foreign Minister met with M5S Italian deputies

At the meeting it was confirmed that in a relatively short historical period the collaboration between our two countries in the political, economic, trade, cultural and humanitarian spheres has come a long way - from the fact of recognition by Rome the state sovereignty of Kazakhstan in 1992 until reaching the level of real strategic partnership ( in accordance with the 2009 contract) and the joint implementation of large projects in the framework of the State program of our country's accelerated industrial and innovative development.

Rome is one of the key political and economic partners of Astana. Italy is firmly in the third place among the foreign countries as for the mutual trade turnover (after China and Russia). Over the last year the trade turnover between the two countries amounted to 16.4 billion U.S. dollars, and for the first half of this year has exceeded 7 billion (7,12).

The cooperation in the military field, in particular, is to facilitate the withdrawal of Italian troops from Afghanistan, the International Security Assistance Force. In February this year there was signed an agreement on transit through the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the ratification of which is expected in the future.
