Kazakh filmmakers to partake in world show in Hollywood

New Hollywood Filmmaker is an international competition and an entertainment program which aims at changing Hollywood attracting new talented filmmakers from every corner of the world.

"10 countries including Kazakhstan will take part in this project. 12 film directors from Kazakhstan will spend 12 weeks in Hollywood. The winner of the competition will receive USD 2, 500, 000 which must be used for shooting his or her own film", a representative of Cinema Hotel Corporation said.

The candidates must have already written a feature length script to be admitted for the project. The applications are made in a form of a 2-3 min video pitch about the project accompanied by a detailed resume of work experience and examples of work. Students are not accepted for the competition.

The authors of the best works will be invited for a casting in Almaty. Local renowned moviemakers, the experts of a movie commission as well as the organizers of the film festival will evaluate the candidates' presentations.

First the two-week show will be broadcast on local TV channels till the departure of 12 participants to Hollywood due to which the people could get know about them.

The most interesting part of the project will start in Hollywood. The program will be broadcast four times a week. The participants will have to pass various tests and solve problems. At the end of each week one of them will leave the program.

The final stage of the competition will be broadcast in Kazakhstan live.
