Kazakh fairy tales presented in Russia
A collection of tales titled as "The Legends of Stone Giants", which also includes Kazakh folk tales, was presented at the Moscow State Linguistic University, Kazinform News Agency reports.

The publication also features fairy tales of Azerbaijani, Armenian, Belarusian, Georgian, Chinese, Kyrgyz, Tajik, and Uzbek peoples, both in the original languages and in Russian.
The tales, mostly covering the theme of mountains, were translated by the university’s faculty. The book has been published in a circulation of 1,000 copies.
The idea for publishing the book was put forward by the Eurasian Alliance of Mountain Resorts (EAMR), established in 2023. The alliance includes Kazakhstan’s Shymbulak and Oi-Qaragai resorts, Russia’s Rosa Khutor, and others.
“These types of books are important because they help us better understand the cultural context of the Commonwealth countries. Additionally, they serve as a resource for students studying the languages of the CIS countries,” said Olga Egorova, Director of the Project Office for International Cooperation at the Moscow State Linguistic University.
According to Sergey Khvorostyany, Deputy General Director for International Relations and Tourism at the Rosa Khutor mountain resort, reading the fairy tales sparks a desire to visit the remarkable places where the characters of these stories lived.
As reported earlier, the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Serbia has donated 100 copies of the book "Kazakh folk tales in Serbian language" to the HRH Crown Princess of Serbia Katherine Karadjordjevic as a gift to her charity foundation.
