Kazakh, European parliamentarians meet in Astana

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Chairman of the Human Rights Commission under the President of Kazakhstan, Majilis deputy Kuanysh Sultanov has met today with members of the European Parliament Daniël van der Stoep and Elisabeth Jeggle in the Kazakh capital.
At the meeting utmost attention was paid to the peculiarities of law-making activities in Kazakhstan and Europe. For instance, Majilisman Sultanov talked about recent activities of the lower chamber of the Kazakh Parliament and noted it was necessary to enhance legal knowledge in Kazakhstan. The European parliamentarians also asked about the protection of human rights in Kazakhstan. MP Sultano said the Commission put forward the proposals related to the protection of human rights into the new Criminal and Administrative Codes of the Republic of Kazakhstan and assured they would be taken into account.
