Kazakh Environment Minister visited Norway
The Kazakh Minister met with reps of official and business circles of Norway. Kapparov had talks with Norwegian Climate and Environment Minister Tine Sundtoft to discuss cooperation in the field of sustainable energy, clean technologies and innovations, management of natural resources. He noted that these areas in which Norway is taking the lead are prioritized by President Nursultan Nazarbayev in his Address "Kazakhstan's way - 2050: common goal, common interests, and common future". The parties also focused on Kazakhstan's green economy transition concept and an opportunity of mutual support within Norway's Energy Plus initiative and Green Bridge Partnership Programme. At the meeting with Minister of Fisheries Elizabeth Aspaker and Deputy Minister of Trade, Fisheries and Industry Dilek Ayhan the Kazakh Minister briefed on Kazakhstan's goal to join the top 30 developed countries of the world and the measures taken. He also informed of Kazakhstan's fishery development programme elaborated within the country's transition to green economy. Kapparov noted that Kazakhstan is interested in the development of aquaculture and learning Norway's experience. Minister Kapparov invited official and business circles of Norway to take part in the VII Astana economic forum and preparations for holding EXPO 2017 in Astana.
