Kazakh Embassy to Uzbekistan held briefing dedicated to Day of Constitution

TASHKENT. August 23. KAZINFORM - The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan hosted a briefing dedicated to the Day of the Constitution of Kazakhstan.

Valikhan Turekhanov, Charge d'Affaires of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Republic of Uzbekistan, informed local and foreign media as well as representatives of scientific and expert circles of the country about the importance of the Kazakh Constitution in foreign policy, economic and domestic policy achievements during the years of independence.

"August 30 of the current year marks the 18th anniversary of the adoption of the Constitution which clearly states and guarantees constitutional rights and freedoms of our citizens", said Turekhanov.

During his speech, particular attention was paid to the preparation of Kazakhstan for an international specialized exhibition «EXPO-2017». The briefing participants were reported on Kazakhstan's efforts to promote our country for non-permanent members of the Security Council of the United Nations for the period from 2017 to 2018. Noting the international initiatives of Kazakhstan the diplomat paid attention to Astana's strivings within the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons and "ATOM" project .

In the final part of the speech Turekhanov stressed the development of the Kazakh-Uzbek relations at the present stage. "On behalf of His Excellency Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Uzbekistan Boribay Zheksembin, I would like to congratulate all Uzbekistan citizens with the upcoming national holiday - Independence Day", summed up Charge d'Affaires.
