Kazakh Embassy to function in Masqat, Oman, from 2010

ASTANA. December 30. KAZINFORM Kazakh Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Kairat Lama Sharif met with Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah, in the course of which he conveyed the message of Kazakh Secretary of State-Minister of Foreign Affairs Kanat Saudabayev; the Kazakh Embassy's press service reports.

"Results of the negotiations of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev and Sultan Qaboos bin Said in Masqat in March, 2008 demonstrated existence of great potential on extension of political interaction on bilateral and multilateral basis, promotion of joint economic projects and tuning up cultural ties", the message notes.  

The Kazakh diplomat informed of main significant foreign and domestic policy events in Kazakhstan, last achievements of the country in asocial-economic development and improvement of political reforms on the threshold of its chairmanship in the OSCE in 2010 and in the OIC in 2011. He also informed that in accordance with the Kazakh President's Decree the Kazakh Embassy will function in Masqat from 2010.

The Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman highly appraised Kazakhstan's role in regional and international affairs and announced that Oman will continue to render multilateral support to the Kazakh initiatives and efforts taken in ensuring regional and international security, tuning up interfaith dialog.

Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah welcomed the Kazakh side's decision on the opening of the diplomatic representation office in the Sultanate and confirmed our country's striving to activate and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with Kazakhstan.
