Kazakh Embassy in Tashkent organized several events on Victory Day
In the first half of the day heads of the diplomatic missions accredited in Uzbekistan visited the Embassy of Kazakhstan, where they familiarized with a photo exhibition dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Besides, there was held a wreath-laying ceremony at the Eternal Flame, near the monument of the Sorrowful Mother at the Mustakillik square and common graves in Tashkent.
Kazakh Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Uzbeistan Boribay Zheksembin noted that over 600 thousand Kazakhstanis died in battlefields and about the same amount died in the home front. "Over 500 sons and daughters of Kazakhstan became heroes of the Soviet Union. They are Aliya Moldagulova and Manshuk Mametova, Baurzhan Momyshuly, Rakhimzhan Koshkarbayev, Kassym Kaissenov," the diplomat outlined.
