Kazakh embassy in China hosts Independence Day reception

BEIJING. KAZINFORM - A diplomatic reception on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at the Kazakh Embassy in Beijing.

The event brought together 400 participants - representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Beijing, international organizations, businessmen, and Kazakhstani students. Charge d'affaires of Kazakhstan in China Rakymzhan Rakhimov opened the reception. "For the past 23 years since attaining independence Kazakhstan under the leadership of President Nursultan Nazarbayev has enjoyed political stability, expanding economy and growing prosperity of the population. China considers Kazakhstan as its strategic partner. Kazakhstan and China maintain intensive contacts at the highest level," said Vice Foreign Minister of China Cheng Guoping in his congratulatory speech. In addition, Kazakhstani wine and honey producers who have ambitious plans to conquer the Chinese market made a presentation of their goods within the framework of the reception. Kazakhstan is expected to appoint its new ambassador to the People's Republic of China in the nearest future. Former Kazakh ambassador posted in Beijing Nurlan Yermekbayev was named as the presidential aide and Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan in November.
