Kazakh Embassy held meeting on cyber security
Representatives of the Congress, the U.S. Department of State and diplomatic mission took part in the meeting. Vice President of the Institute T. Morgan and Professor of Law from Georgetown University Katherine Lotrionte delivered keynote addresses. The main topic of the agenda was an issue of cyberspace and cyber security in the context of international law.
Kazakh Ambassador to the USA Yerlan Idrissov emphasized the necessity of establishing international legislative regulation of cyber issues, ensuring information security and preventing formations of new challenges to global information and cyber security.
T. Morgan noted the relevance of defining international rules for cooperation between state and non-state actors aimed at ensuring cyber security in cyberspace. The usage of the defined rules will allow all the participants of the cyber space to prevent many conflicts in the cyberspace.
During the discussion held afterwards the necessity of international cooperation in prevention of cyber attacks was emphasized as well as the necessity of developing special policy for defense from these attacks.
