"Only 14 universities in Kazakhstan are licensed to offer academic programs in Political Science major. And only two universities - the Gumilyov Eurasian National University and the Al-Farabi Kazakh National prepare undergraduate, graduate and PhD students under the major. It shows there are certain problems in providing quality training to future political scientists," Y. Imangaliyev said at the Kazakhstan's way - Strategy 2050 forum in Astana. The vice-minister also noted that knowledge in the field of political life can form pro-active life position, good communication skills, provide an opportunity to see the modern world as a whole, and analyze complex problems of social and political relations in the society. "Only highly skilled teachers of political science can solve the problem of teaching quality. Structure of this major and directions of professional political education are clearly defined in those countries where political science and its teaching have reached the highest level of development. For instance, the United States, where 1,037 universities and colleges offer degrees in political science," Y. Imangaliyev said.
