Kazakh Deputy Prosecutor General met with reps of Amnesty International

ASTANA. June 24. KAZINFORM First Deputy Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan Johan Merkel met with the representatives of Amnesty International Monday in Astana, Kazinform refers to the press service of the General Prosecutor Office.
J.Merkel complimented the achievements of Kazakhstan in protection of detainees, suspects, accused and sentenced persons from tortures. He also informed on the role and functions of the prosecution in prevention, suppression and identifying of torture facts.
Upon the completion of the meeting the Kazakh General Prosecutor Office expressed readiness to assist to the representatives of the international organization in preparation of the standing report on tortures in Kazakhstan.
