Kazakh delegation took part in WCO sessions
The main topic of discussion was the realization of the WCO strategic plan aimed at development of trade, provision of security and institutional development. Besides, the issue of implementation of the concept of analysis of risks based on preliminary informing, data exchange, random search, etc was discussed as well. "Global Shield" project aimed at prevention of illegal shipments of precursors for production of explosives was accepted for implementation upon the results of the talks.
Head of the Kazakh customs body K.Karbuzov held negotiations with European Commissioner for Taxation and Customs Union, Audit and Anti-Fraud Algirdas Šemeta and Director General for Taxation and Customs Union Antonis Kastrissianakis. The representatives of the European Union highly appraised the modernization reforms held by the Kazakh customs service and effective border management. The sides emphasized the importance of establishment and development of partnership between the authorized bodies of Kazakhstan and European Union.
Negotiations with Director of the WCO Capacity Building Directorate Lars Karlsson were held as well. The sides discussed the results of the work of the Kazakhstani customs service on implementation of the project on modernization of the WCO Regional Training Center that was established in Astana in December, 2009. Lars Karlsson said that the monitoring of achievements of the world customs services showed that the Kazakh customs service was one of the most successful.
Besides, meetings with heads of the customs services of China, Belgium, Ireland, Bulgaria, Mongolia, Estonia, Ukraine, Belarus, Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan were held as well.
