Kazakh delegation discussed in Paris nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation issues

Barlybay Sadykov, the Ambassador-at-large, headed the delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan which debated the issues of nuclear disarmament and non-proliferation. In the frame of consultations there were addressed the issues of the Universal Declaration of the Nuclear-free world, signing of the protocol on negative assurances to the Treaty on the establishment of a zone free of nuclear weapons in Central Asia.

The event also touched upon the situation around the Iranian and North Korean nuclear programs and the prospect of Kazakhstan's access to the International export control regimes (Mode Missile Technology Control, the Australian Group, the Wassenaar Arrangement), the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) and the Biological and Toxin Weapons Convention (BTWC).
