Kazakh cuisine sparked interest in New York International Food Festival
According to the Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in New York City, the festival is held for the first time and it has immediately caused a surge of positive emotions and expectations providing an opportunity for all visitors to find themselves in the unusual role of tasters.
The guests were offered exotic cuisines of such countries as India, Barbados, Philippines, Antigua and Barbuda, Algeria and Liberia. More traditional dishes were presented by Switzerland, Serbia, Poland and the United States.
The Central Asian region was represented by the Kazakh and Uzbek cuisine. Undoubtedly, the table with the Kazakh dishes enjoyed great popularity and people surrounded it during the whole time of the festival. The festival initiators offered visitors some music and dancing performances as well.
"The Kazakh Consulate General, as the main organizer of the event, will use this opportunity to further explore the culture of Kazakhstan and promote its positive image. I am sure that the event will attract in the future and will bring together more than a dozen countries", said Raushan Esbulatova, the Consul General.
