Kazakh contribution to nuclear disarmament, strengthening international security - important example

WASHINGTON. February 7. KAZINFORM The Kazakh Embassy in Washington gave a dinner in honor of the US outstanding political figures and specialists in thefield of disarmament and non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction; Kazinform refers to the Kazakh Embassy?s press service.

Kazakh Secretary of State Kanat Saudabayev and Co-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nuclear Threat Initiative, former Senator Sam Nunn attended the dinner. Representatives of the US Congress, Department of State and Department of Defense, scientific, public and authoritative ?brain? centers in the field of non-proliferation of the USA, Great Britain, Egypt, Sweden, Board Chairman of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute Rolf Ekeus took part in it.
They exchanged opinions on topical issues regarding non-proliferation, energy security, geopolitical situation in the Eurasian continent and a growing role of Kazakhstan in this context. The participants emphasized that Kazakhstan?s contribution to the issue of nuclear disarmament and strengthening international security is an important example in a global scale. They noted successful implementation of Kazakhstan's foreign policy aimed at ensuring the stable development of cooperation and partnership relations with neighbors in the region and beyond.
