Kazakh, Chinese cultural centers to start working on the threshold of SCO summit - President Tokayev
The Kazakh-Chinese Forum titled as “New Chapter of Good-Neighborly Relations” has kicked off in Astana, Kazinform News Agency reports.


Welcoming the participants, Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva read out a message from President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
In his message, the Head of State congratulated the participants on the beginning of the Kazakh-Chinese Forum “New Chapter of Good-Neighborly Relations.”
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pointed out symbolism and importance of the event being held as part of the SCO summit and the state visit of the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping to Kazakhstan.
According to him, the Kazakh-Chinese relations have moved to a new level to date.
“Our comprehensive strategic partnership strengthens year by year. Cultural-humanitarian ties contribute to it. In fact, culture and art is a golden bridge connecting the countries and civilizations. The Kazakh, Chinese cultural centers will start working on the threshold of the SCO summit. This step opens the way towards further development of the two countries’ interaction. New joint projects in education, science and tourism will be implemented. I hope that today’s forum will enhance the friendly relations between Kazakhstan and China based on good-neighborliness,” the message reads.
