Kazakh Centre of Hematology plans 20 bone marrow transplants in 2012

ASTANA. September 24. KAZINFORM Kazakhstan Centre of Hematology plans to carry out 20 bone marrow transplants in 2012, Chief Freelance Hematologist of the Ministry of Health Irina Pivovarova announced on September 22.

According to her, five bone marrow transplantations have been carried out since August 2010, where four more surgeries are planned to take place before the end of 2011. According to the expert, in order to obtain the international accreditation a hematology centre must hold at least 10 successful transplants of bone marrow a year, the Kazakh MFA's press service said.
