Kazakh CEC Chairman receives observer certificate in Minsk

MINSK. September 21. KAZINFORM Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Lidia Yermoshina met with Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan Kuandyk Turgankulov in Minsk on 20 September, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian CEC.

Lidia Yermoshina handed over an international observer certificate to the Chairman of the Kazakhstan's CEC and briefed him on the ongoing election campaign in the country, BelTA reports.

The Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan has accredited two experts to observe the parliamentary elections in Belarus. Apart from Kazakhstan, the election campaign in Belarus is monitored by representatives of the central election commissions of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Russia, Latvia and Moldova.

The Central Election Commission of Belarus has so far accredited 765 international observers. The biggest observation missions have been deployed by the CIS and OSCE/ODIHR - 346 and 263 observers respectively. The OSCE PA has deployed its 76 representatives. Among the accredited observers are 44 representatives of the diplomatic corps and 23 independent experts.
