Kazakh capital to host ISBA World Powerlifting Championships
The IBSA Powerlifting and Benchpress World Championships will be for the first time held in Astana, Kazakhstan, between October 5 and 12, Kazinform News Agency cites the city administration’s (akimat) official website.

This landmark gathering will bring 71 blind and partially sighted athletes from nine countries, including Kazakhstan, Georgia, Ukraine, Turkiye, Egypt, Lebanon, the Czech Republic, Israel and Kenya.
130 contestants, including coaches and judges, are expected to arrive in Kazakhstan.
It will be organized by the Kazakhstan Blind Sports Federation, Kazakhstan Para Powerlifting Federation and Astana akimat.
As earlier reported, Astana hosted the Para Hockey World Championships last October.
Kazakhstani para athletes grabbed record-high medals at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games in Paris.
