Kazakh capital to hold National Equestrian Sports Festival
The National Equestrian Sports Festival dedicated to the Republic Day and the 30th anniversary of maslikhats of Kazakhstan will be held in Astana on October 11-12, Kazinform News Agency has learned from the city akimat.
With the support of the Kazakh capital's akimat and the Federation of Equestrian Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, kokpar (fight for goat's carcass) and baige (horse racing) events will take place within the festival.
The National Equestrian Sports Festival is scheduled to be held at the Qazanat Racecourse.
The baige competition is to commence at 11:00 am on October 12. The prize money stands at 20 million tenge.
The kokpar qualifying bouts are scheduled to take place from 09:00 am to 05:00 pm on October 11. The final rounds are set to commence at 09:00 am on October 12. The total prize money for winning kokpar is estimated at 12 million tenge.
