Kazakh-born opera singer dies in Germanwings crash

ASTANA. KAZINFORM - Kazakh-born opera singer Oleg Bryjak was among the 144 passengers aboard the Germanwings Airbus A320 that crashed in the French Alps on Tuesday, March 24.
Oleg Bryjak and his colleague Maria Radner performed this month in a production of "Siegfried" at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and were on their way to Dusseldorf, Germany. Born in Kazakhstan in 1960, Bryjak graduated from a musical college in Karaganda and an academy of music in Alma Ata. He performed at opera theaters in Lviv (Ukraine), Chelyabinsk and Saint Petersburg (Russia). The bass baritone performed in the Deutsche Oper am Rhein ensemble since 1996. Source: RIA Novosti
